General information

Abstract

Iowa State University, Mouse Genome Informatics, the Rat Genome Database, European Animal Disease Genomics Network of Excellence (EADGENE) and the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) have worked together to incorporate the Mammalian Phenotype (MP) ontology and the Animal Trait Ontology (ATO) to develop a Vertebrate Trait Ontology (VT), with emphasis on morphological, physiological and developmental traits in vertebrates. This project is aimed at enhancing the ability to standardize phenotype nomenclature across species.
