Bioaggressor Biotic Vector

Definitions
A biotic vector is a living organism able of successfully transporting a bioaggressor from an affected organism into the environment or in a consummed resource of another healthy organism, or even of inoculating it into this healthy organism. Any plants of the environment can be a reservoir for bioaggressors and/or biotic vectors. A biotic vector can also be a bioaggressor (e.g. an aphid). Biotic vectors in plant health are mainly biting-sucking insects (haemipterans) or nematodes (roundworms). A bird that carries a weed seed in its digestive system, enabling the seed to be deposited in a cultivated plot, is also a biotic vector.
