cheyletiellosis (rabbit)

Definitions
Cheyletiellosis is a zoonose caused by a mite, Cheyletiella parasitovorax, which lives in the fur. It is most commonly found on farms where rabbits are raised on straw and contaminated by direct contact. Generally, crusty lesions with scales are observed on the neck, head and shoulders. These lesions appear to be itchy.
