Mucoid enteropathy or mucoid enteritis corresponds to a disturbance in caecal transit with massive production of mucus by the colon and partial blockage of the caecum. This disorder is fairly common. The disease is caused by certain diets or stress. Symptoms include prostration, reduced appetite and mucus in the stools.
