strongylosis (rabbit)

Definitions
Strongylosis is an internal parasitic infestation caused by the strongyles Trichostrongylus retortaeformis and Trichostrongylus axei. It is very rare in rational breeding, more frequent in farm breeding and very frequent in organic rabbits reared on the ground, which become infected by ingesting the larvae when grazing. The symptoms are anaemia and weight loss.
