klebsiellosis (rabbit)

Definitions
Klebsiellosis is a zoonotic contagious disease, quite rare in rabbit breeding, mainly affecting young rabbits before weaning, with high mortality in the nest. The disease can also affect post-weaned rabbits, and is occasionally symptomatic in mothers. Transmission is via the environment or from the mother (a healthy carrier) to the suckling young. The disease can cause diarrhea and lightning septicemia.
